The Golden PalominosThis unorthodox rock group's profile has been much enhanced by the array of celebrities who have contributed their works. Led by Anton Fier who gave birth to the group in '81 (He had previously spent time in experimental bans Lounge Lizards and Pere Ubu), the band's albums have seen guest appearances by Michael Stipe, John Lydon, Jack Bruce, Daniel Ponce and T Bone Burnett amongst others. Whether the sum consistently ever equalled the constituent parts is open to questions, but at their best their music has achieved a sublime beauty.(Liner notes from "Americanism"-CD) Discography |
